In HMP you could make a food quantity negative. This was handy for those who use a whole milk reserve in formula - if you decided to use less of the whole milk one day you could input a negative milk quantity to see the new overall phe target without actually adjusting the daily goal. Also handy for un-counting uneaten portions of food without doing the math yourself to adjust the initial amount entered.
